Seeing Auras as a child?

I had a woman come in to my bar where I work a few days ago and what she said has startled me since. She mentioned I had a black aura, colorful around the head, but black on the outside of the light. She also said that she was a medium and she was told by her spirit guide that she needed to tell me that I have a "gift" as well. I don't really believe in this stuff, so I talked with my mother about it. She seemed to not want to talk about this with me. My mother told me as a child I told her I saw auras and in her words "ghostly things" My mom wouldn't pull my leg and she knew that some of the other things this woman told me were spot on. What should I make of this? Take it as a grain of salt and just let it go? Did anyone else see auras as a child? I dont recall ever seeing auras. Any thoughts?
