When writing a fantasy novel, how do you keep from using 'earthly' terms?

I don't think you *can* avoid "earthly terms", even in a fantasy novel. Readers need something they can relate to, however mundane it might be. If you invent your own terminology and dispense with recognised terminology. nobody will know what you're talking about. It's like devising a new language without providing a dictionary for reference.

Never include Kashi in your diet. Do you know that cereal can cause weight gain? Even special K “diet” cereals. Nah they dont work. Stick with oatmeal and the yougurt and grapes. Oatmeal will help you lsoe weight. Keep a journal of what you eat and before you eat something write it down what you are about to eat and WHY you are eating it. Sometimes you have cravings for food, when really, you are dehydrated and do not have enough water to drink. Wait 7 minutes, drink a glass of water before each meal. That will fill you up and make you eat less of whats on your plate. Never eat in front of the television, reading a book/magazine, computer, etc. Have you ever noticed how you never pay attention to what you eat when you are in front of the television? Food is about enjoying it. You can eat the same amount of food per day but in a fewer amount and more servings. I prefer not to eat after 6pm as you cant eat 4 hours before you go to sleep since eating later on, the cells will convert themselves into fat which will be stored in your body. Good luck.

8hours is no where near enough sleep. It's normal for a overtired baby to nap for 30 minutes then wake up. Also when they are over tired they wake with the startled sleep patteren. Try taking him for a walk bump his crib, drive in the car, anything to get him to sleep during the day!!!!!!! I have the same problem. Its 4am here. Not being able to sleep really does suck. I'm sorry to say nothing may work. Prescription pills didn't even work for me. Honestly the only thing that helps is Marijuana but i'm not going to tell you to go try it only to sleep. Maybe if medical marijuana is legal in your state you could look into getting it for insomnia. It really does help.

You might think that this is kind of stupid of me but when you listen to the circumstances you'll understand. My iPhone died in the middle of the night so I couldn't hear my alarm. I woke up at 7:13, my bus comes at 7:22 so I only had time t change and not grab something to eat. My parents also didn't get up until the time that I got up so they couldn't give me a check for my lunch and I didn't have any money, my friends didn't have any money on them so I couldn't get lunch from them. Finally when I got home I needed a siesta so I slept for a few hours and didn't eat until 7:30 PM which was a large Swai fillet and a small bowl of corn which wasn't a lot of food considering that I skipped two meals. I did snack on chips but it's not a good substitute as it sounds. Anyway about ten minutes ago I started feeling really weak, I started feeling hot then cold, got hot and cold sweats, and I felt really shaky and empty inside. Should I eat more to substitute for the missed meals or just ignore it and wait until I eat breakfast which is in about 8 hours. I need advice. I'm almost 15 and I weigh about 110 - 115, slim/athletic build if this helps

Help!! Am I suffering anxiety?

I have had anxiety now for 2 years. I am 21 years old. Actually right now, while I'm writing this, I feel like I can't breathe and I feel like I have something lodged in my throat. Normally I would take off to the ER right away, get poked with a bunch of needles, have a urine test done, etc. Just in the end to hear the doctor tell me once again "sweetie, this is all due to anxiety". I hate those words, because I feel like there is still something more that's wrong with me. But I'm trying to teach myself that everything will be okay! I won't die! And if I do, well... I hope I'm headed for Heaven rather than the nasty place we all call Hell. Some of MY symptoms from anxiety include: shortness or breath, racing heart, stomach pain, headaches, numbness and tingling, tightness in the chest area, "swelling" of the throat and dizziness/faint feelings. Who wouldve thought that anxiety could cause such problems? I never would have guessed it! My first year dealing with anxiety, I managed to rack up $10,000 worth of doctor bills and I didn't even have a job at the time!!! Thank the Lord I was able to apply for assistance. They paid every penny for me. Praise God! I would have been in a deeper hole than I already am in. And still, here I sit, feeling my throat for any "bumps" or "painful spots". I make myself laugh sometimes :) things that HELP with anxiety: EXERCISE, MEDICATION, MEDITATION, COUNSELING, WRITING DOWN YOUR THOUGHTS EVERY DAY, GO TO YOUTUBE.COM & LOOK UP MEDITATION, ALSO LOOK UP TAPPING FOR ANXIETY, EATING HEALTHY. Also when a negative thought comes along, try to block it. Go to your favorite place in your mind, and think about being there. Feng Shui bed placement?

Ok, so I am learning Feng Shui because I think it may be helpful. I have learned some and now I am lost when it comes to wear to put my flipping bed! It is a rectangle shaped room. Ok on one wall we have the entrance to the bedroom from the kitchen/living room-we shall call this the inner door because its about to get confusing (on one long side) the opposite of the door way is obviously the other long side of the room, in which the far corner diagonal from the door (the place where I am supposed to have the bed) there is a door that leads outside we shall call this the outer door. Now on the (far wall away from the inner door of the bedroom), one short side of the room close to the door is a window. On the other short side closest to the inner door is the bathroom and closet-so where should I put my bed?? On every wall is something not good!

My family and I rent a home. Our landlord comes over almost every weekend to do "maintenance". The problem is, they get here and maybe put up a few boards and that's all they do in about 9 to 10 hours. They argue and scream and it's very disturbing. If I go out in the back, she comes over and runs her boyfriend down to me and talks about things that I feel are none of my business. He drinks a 12 pack or more of beer and I don't like that...we don't drink. We have expressed our concerns about things that need to be done inside the home but she says she forgets. She came in and did an inspection and went through our pantry, fridge, closets...made me angry. She even changed the temperature on the central heat and air. We have had plumbing problems for a LONG time and she won't have it repaired properly. Yeah, she keeps promising. The night my mom died, we asked her to not come over the next day. She called me the next day screaming at me because I asked her to not come over. The very next day, when we were getting ready for church, she showed up and told us we could leave but we had to leave the house unlocked. Sadly, I just went to church alone and my husband stayed home. She got here that day about 8 am and didn't leave until around 9 pm. I'd like to know if there is something I can do or say to her that won't cause her to evict us. We can't afford anything else but she needs to know her place and stop invading our space every weekend. They use our water and electricity and will not reimburse us for it. Also, she has her radio blaring. Hopefully there is an attorney out there that will see this and help us.

Stainless steel. Don't ask me why, I'm not a chemist or anything, I just know that for some strange reason, rubbing your fish-smellin' hands on something stainless steel kills the smell. lemon juice, etc., just cover it up, they don't make it go away.

You're going to lose your wife if you don't do something about it.

Severe nightmares, even painful ones, should I be worried?

For a while now, I have been have very severe nightmares... I don't have the most enjoyable life and things don't go how i want the most of the time, so i would say im almost always stressed. I am 19 now and been having dreams, at least ones that i can remember, since around when i turned 18. I hadn't had dreams that i can remember since i was no older than 7. Now since i have been having these dreams, they have been becoming progressively more intense, nothing as far as wetting the bed or anything like that, just extreme confusion and constant sleep interruptions some nights and other where in my dreams, i feel pain, and when i wake, i still feel the pain, but it slowly fades away. For example, last night i was having a dream and i turned bad when a dog attacked me and lunged at my face. This is one of the first times i have ever woken with such a startled jump before, being completely flustered and shocked and not knowing what is going on for at least 6 minutes. Other times, i will awake, but i will not be able to move, yet i know for a fact that i am awake. I will not be able to open my eyes, but i can hear. I know for a fact that this is happening because i have an old fashion ticking clock on the floor with me, and i can hear it. I am starting to get worried that something is wrong with me as i am no longer willing to sleep because the things i see in these dreams are starting to trouble me as well as the pain and paralysis are starting to become annoying... So should i be worried about these symptoms and seek help soon or does anyone recommend anything i can do to help with these symptoms. It has gotten to a point where i prolong going to sleep because i am afraid of what might happen while i am sleeping, sometimes staying up to 5 in the morning, other nights not going to sleep at all. Any input would be appreciated for i don't have anyone to talk to...

I feel like a worthless piece of ****..?

I feel worthless and I have officially hit rock bottom. So I am bisexual and I have had 2 terrible relationships happen to me this year. The first girlfriend I had I was with for a while, however she ended up claiming she was busy all the time and it turned out she was leaving me for another guy. I was in the closet at this time and did not come out until a few months later. I then had another girlfriend and she claimed all these feelings about me, but in the end, it turned out she was dating a whole nother guy and was living a whole 'nother life for 5 months. But what is there to like about me? I am 5'10 and I weigh 115 pounds, I am all body muscle however I have been teased and critisized my whole life for being the weak boy. Last year I made a stand and beat the **** out of this kid who bullied me, yet I was wrong in doing so as in people continued to call me skinny and worthless. (I am a senior now) My freshman year, it got so bad that I had to get adult help as I could not walk home safely, and I became known as the snitch. Okay back to the present. I began to like this boy who is sweet, and nice. However he doesn't notice me as much as other guys (even bi and gay ones.). And it seems that no one wants to get to know me (in person I look confident and happy as ever but really I i feel like burring myself and rotting in a hole). Everyone goes off of what other people say and think. They never want to get a second look of me. At the lgbt prom (18 and under) I went and some guy grabbed me, draged me to a corner and said "we should kiss" and I was offended. He didnt even ask my name. 5 minutes later I was asked to go to some guys car and have sex, and I know I should be "appreciating" this but its demeaning to me. They like what they see in a very dark prom room and want to just get off to me. Yet in reality I am unnoticed (I give my self confidence in public) and I crumble and fail each time. Can I eat Gordon Fisherman fish while pregnant?

Im gluten and lactose free I make my own food, and taco meat doesn't agree with me while pregnant it makes morning sickness worse. I seen on a hard taco kit about putting Gordon Fisherman grilled lemon pepper fillets on it. I do not eat seafood since I became pregnant, but since it is frozen fish does it have mercury in it? I ate a bowl of Campbell's clam chowder with gluten free pasta the other day, I heard on here it wont hurt, because it doesn't have high levels off mercury like other tuna fish or seafood. My doctor told me to stay away from restaurant seafood. So not sure on that one.

Mix flour with some salt and pepper to taste. Dust your fish in the flour mix. Pour some oil in the pan and a dollopp of butter, medium high heat. When the butter is bubbling add your fish and flip over after 2 or three minutes. Fish is cooked when it flakes. Blanch your veggies in boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes then toss in a pan with butter, salt and pepper. Bon apetit

What to do about mold in apartment?

The ceiling in the bathroom of my apartment just caved in and there's mold everywhere. Last week I left for the weekend and came back to find the bathroom sink and toilet covered in mold and across the hall in my closet two pairs of shoes had mold. What legal action should I take? hi there, if you want my honest advice, it's not bad but its not great either. It's a bit muddled and rushed and a bit of a jumble to read, too much is happening at once. I got a little confused, you need to slow down first of all. Card value is VERY different based on exactly what you have. I would seperate yours based on team -or- player. I would also look closely on certain stars that could be worth a lot more than 10 cents each. (i.e. Jordan, Kobe, Jeter.) It is really difficult to give you a for sure answer on how to sell based on what you have. My only advice is to seperate them into lots of players and teams you think would sell. If you think they are junk, they probably wont sell. You could also try craigslist and list them all for 1 price, see if anyone nibbles. My husband was best man in a wedding yesterday. I attended the wedding and reception in a classic "little black dress". During the reception, the bride approached me and asked me why I wore black ( a funeral color) to her wedding. I was homeless for 2 weeks and I need advice about how to recover?

I was recently homeless for 2 weeks and during this time I disciplined myself to eat as little as possible and I rationed my food to last me throughout the day. I slept on a park bench and sometimes on a sidewalk. Now I find myself not being able to eat as I used to. No matter how much I try to force myself to eat I just cant get myself to swallow food. We have to store our medicine in a closet. I use one of those Sterilite 3 drawer storage containers and it sits in the bottom of the closet. Seeing Auras as a child?

I had a woman come in to my bar where I work a few days ago and what she said has startled me since. She mentioned I had a black aura, colorful around the head, but black on the outside of the light. She also said that she was a medium and she was told by her spirit guide that she needed to tell me that I have a "gift" as well. You wanna first marinade the chicken first ( use everything except the salsa ) leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours. When you start to cook it, use a pan or skillet on the stove top. Make sure you use some pam or light oil ( so the chicken does not stick to the pan ). Since you said the chicken is thin it shouldn't take long at all to cook. After that pour on the salsa to your liking and enjoy!

Cut 1 pound thawed frozen fillet of sole in strips. Mix 1 cup orange juice, juice of 1 lemon and 1 lime, 1/4 cup vinegar, 2 t. salt, 1/2 t. pepper, and a broken dried red pepper. Add a few onion rings. Pour over raw fish, cover; refrigerate overnight. The fish is beautifully " cooked" by the fruit acids, not too firm- not too soft. Makes 4 servings.
